Between the two you listed I would go with the Vengeance purely for the fact that they have more reviews but they are pretty much the same

Thanks. You beat me to the reply.

I am looking to increase my laptops memory from 8GB to 16GB and have narrowed it down between two different sets:

Patriot Viper 16GB (2x8GB) 2400 (15-15-15-35) at $102

or

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) 2400 (16-16-16-39) at $120

I feel like the Patriot would be the better purchase here, but i don't know anything about their reliability or quality. Also, since i would be running in dual channel would I be running at the 2400 or would I only be running at 2133 (this part was confusing to me)? my CPU is the i5-7300hq.

Thanks in advance.

Laptop ram is not the same as desktop ram. What you have listed won't work. I recommend using this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148614

⬇ - PC specs down below - ⬇

The Impossibox

CPU: (x2) Xeon X5690 12c/24t (6c/12t per cpu)

Motherboard: EVGA Super Record 2 (SR-2)

GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB

Case: Modded Lian-LI PC-08

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500Gb and a 2Tb HDD

PSU: 1000W something or other I forget

Display(s): 24" Acer G246HL

Cooling: (x2) Corsair H100i v2

Keyboard: Corsair Gaming K70 LUX RGB MX Browns

Thank you. Can you explain to me why so I can understand better (sorry for my ignorance). When I went to Newegg and used their memory finder and entered my laptop model those were two of the models they gave me. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 (7567) Below are the links to the RAM:

Patriot

Both should work. Just run a memory diagnostic tool after installation to make sure stability is rock solid.
