3.5mm jack stuck in motherboard port need help plz

I have a pair of logitech s120 speakers which has a 3.5mm jack in which I connect that to the speaker output on the motherboard (green socket). Unfortunately my speakers fell down my desk and broke of the jack from the green bit. Now the 3.5mm jack is stuck in the motherboard and I have run out of ideas on how to remove it. I have tried glueing it back together and pulling it out which didn't work.

Any ideas?

Get some small rod of any sort instead of the rest of the jack and use a small amount of really strong glue?

Coathanger piece.  I don't know how much is sticking out, but you could try superglue...or needlenose pliers, or tweezers.  Depending on how much is sticking out.

You'll need something a bit longer than the broken plug as it won't adhere properly to the bit of metal stuck inside. You can't apply enough pressure to form a good bond as the pc won't go in far enough.

Get some high quality glue, be careful not to apply too much as it shouldn't stick to the port. Then use some kind of metal rod and glue it to the bit that's stuck.

Apply enough pressure and give the glue time to set.

Does you mum know you're here?

You will need to create a shroud before you can pull it out.

bit of plastic that you can bend but is tough like for example a straw. Just cut that lengthwise so you can fit it over the broken jack.

That way you smooth out the way for the broken jack since right now it is being hold in place.

When the straw is in the output you can then use a small stick with some glue on the end (superglue) to glue to the backend of the broken jack.

This is where the straw doubles as a catch for the glue so it wont go in the output.

Having said that. Make sure that the straw opening on the side is facing up xD

Have some patience with the glue so you do not pull out to quickly....

There is a tiny bit of flexible metal that holds the pin in... it takes a lot more force to pull out than you think. Same thing happened to my macbook pro port,  had to get it replaced.

As I mentioned in the above post, there is a spring like bit of metal that holds the pin in place, deceptively it takes a lot of force to pull it out, using glue will only mess things up even more. Same thing happened to my macbook pro, had to get ti serviced and port replaced.

alright, get a thin rod and use 2part marine epoxy. once its all done (let it dry for atleast a day) ither give it one big tug or slowly pull it out.

edit: use a tiny bit of epoxy tho and dont get in on youre fingers

It's more likely to bond to the inside plastic than the metal though, it would have to be surgical precision.

@Johnsmith45   Green port is usually Line Out in two channels, are you using all the ports? (surround)? Some motherboards let you re-assign the port functionality, so you could bypass it to another one.

using a 1 or 2 mm wire, with a dab or epoxy isnt really precision to me, ive done it once before and it went well. but considering i use epoxy on boats all the time for various things,it might just be easy for me

i say slide a thin piece of metal in the side of the broken plug, just enough to open her up and tilt her over so she slides out. i reckon i could tease it out with a paper clip. trying to glue it with epoxy as above will risk gluing things to the wrong part you want to remove!

Also like i said. Get something to act like a shroud. For example a straw. So any extra glue will just stick to the shroud and since you will be pulling that out too, it will only help.

That would also help with releasing the pins
