Kraken x61 not loving my new setup/fan control

Hi all, I know similar type questions have been asked but I am still very confused here. I switched over to the am4/ryen platform and having trouble with my kraken x61 and mobo connectors. All of my fans are 3 pin (other than the 2 4 pin plugged into kraken) from my understanding My mobo has 2 cha_fan slots that will allow me to switch them to 3 pin voltage control in bios. Can I plug my pump head into one of these rather than the cpu fan slot so that I can still control the kraken speed rather than have it going full tilt whenever the computer is on?

Correct me, if I am wrong, but I believe the cable from the pump is just to give a signal, the actual pump controlling is done via the software and the connection from USB header.

This is what I am trying to verify thank you. i was not sure if eliminating the voltage control option my previous motherboard had  for the pump header would prevent the pump controlling the fan speeds. As i have not received my new bracket from NZXT yet I can not test this out to make sure it works before it is too late to return the mobo for full refund.

The pump is power via the 3 pin connection and the sata is for the fans, you can plug the pump into the CPU fan header and configure it within the BIOS to be 3 pin DC voltage control if you want to vary the speeds.
