Opinions on 780$ CAD gaming build ?

Dimitrov67

So here's the rig I'm (probably) Going to buy : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/QxTTRG

Any chances you would make to it or is it good ?

Also the price is a bit over my budget do you know any other parts that are good but cheaper (My initial. Budget was 760$)

Thanks

Not bad. Case is not the best (from personal experience) and I'd see if you could afford an ssd (maybe go to an rx 470 instead). Otherwise looks good.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Unfortunately I already bought the case like 2 months ago so I can't return it :(

And is the difference between the rx 480 And 470 big or is it minimal ?

You get most of the performance of a 480 with a 470, i would drop the 480 for a 470 and try to get an SSD. Even a 120GB one would be enough for your OS giving you a snappy system and leaving that whole HDD for media and games.

No, the performance difference is pretty small (5-10%), the biggest difference is the vram and if you're gaming at 1080p you don't need more than 4gb.

Though if you got the case for $34 CAD that's not too bad of a deal. I paid >$50 usd for it and it's definitely not worth it at that price but $34CAD for it is reasonable, especially considering the other options out there.

Just a small tweak. You would gain a lot more from an SSD than from a higher-end 8GB 480.

Here ya go.   slightly weaker GPU but (IMO) a much better CPU.  The hyper threading will greatly increase the PC's life span and you can pretty easily OC it with a cheapo aftermarket CPU cooler.  Also got you an ssd!
