OK so I probably would have put this in the YouTube comments but people would lose their shit and the comment section is usually cancer, so im saying it here

 

So I was watching the Blue iPhone video or whatever it was called, and it makes me a little sad about how LMG is doing things now. Luke said he was to lazy and/or didn't have time to do the proper color change. I think that the almost how-to-basicy content is ridiculous. I think it would have been really cool to see it done properly! Like they would be the only ones with a actual blue iPhone. Like with the Bong CPU cooler for example. That was done properly! And like a guide on how to do it would have been pretty cool.

 

So honestly, I think that LMG can do whatever they want. Im aware that stuff like that gets more veiws or whatever or it takes less time, but there are so few channels that do things properly, and LTT used to do that.

 

Idk. Thanks for reading. I will continue to watch LTT, I just wish they would do more things properly rather than half-assing them

I don't think the main point of that red iphone was trying to get the worlds first "blue iphone"... It was about testicular cancer awareness that's why they didn't try as hard to actually make a blue iphone.

Very true. It was clearly meant as a joke, and I for one enjoyed it. It made me smile whereas a video about painting a phone would have been dreadfully boring. Especially when done properly. Good on LMG to support this important charity, the more clicks and views the better.

While others have been criticizing their videos, I think they've been ok, with the exception of the r5 r3 preview vid (title way misleading), but this one... Is just like... Why.

I've only seen half of the latest video (40" monitor one) but all the cuts with other employees using it and "acting"/making faces is just cringe and low quality imo. Where has the brilliant b-roll Brandon use to do more of gone?

Same goes for other videos. Like the resent laptop reviews (or specifically when detailing ports on products) where there is someone pointing that each port, its minor but Brandon sick b-roll would be so much cleaner.

Edit: it kinda look/seemed like the style of buzzfeed cancer which correlates with why linus said they were doing the thumb nails like they are: because the rest of the yt industry is finding it works and it gets higher clicks ("up to 25% more for a few extra minutes of work").

It just feels like they think they have run out of ways to get more view, (do more of your awesome projects) and with lmg becoming so corporate (which is need to keep going but could have been executed better i think) they have been looking more at what other in the community are doing instead of taking their unique approach which made their videos interesting, entertaining and informative.
