X5650 (hexa core XEON) vs QHQG (skylake i7 engineering sample)

Wow, they sure do.  These work with ddr3 right?

Yes, plus the 32nm XEONS have superior IMC's to the 45NM XEON or i7's.

Westmere-EP is a stronger and efficient design of Nehalem, a very very small IPC increase and superior gaming performance thanks to the much larger L3 cache.

You'd need a X58 board I believe. You'd have to get one most likely used, and they don't seem cheap.

Whats your mum doing that needs 4c/8t?

Or a C series chipset. Since Xeons, you ought to use ECC. Honestly, the L5638 or the L5639 seem better.

Main Gaming Rig:

Don't have the money yet, won't for about a month :( How often are the prices like this?

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Wow, just noticed it has a CPU included D:

Maybe I'll have $$$ sooner than expected

Don't buy an engineering sample i7 unless you've done your research. Even then, I still wouldn't buy one, regardless. There is a list of specific motherboards that it'll work with and you'll be taking a risk with prototype CPUs. You'll be better off going for an X5650 and a decent motherboard.
