Not sure if they can or cannot. I'm not that known in how that large of businesses work. But let's talk about the possible implementations of Apple owning Disney. Product placement seems like an extremely ridiculous reason to buy Disney. The marketing value is pennies worth of the stock. The real money would be in exclusive distribution (for a certain time period) on iTunes, iOS devices and Apple TV. Just like Apple did with the Beatles license.
