Why was this released to Youtube first? What happened to the float plane release? It still isn't on floatplane actually.

likely today is launch day for the device. If its a launch day type of event, they release them simultaneously to both.

That would be all fine and dandy if it was simultaneous, but the video has been on YT for an hour now and still nothing on float plane.

Scheduling releases isn't quite as refine on FPC yet. It's there now.

I still would rather build myself for the price but yeah the aesthetics are clean and nice, I suppose it's a good pick to who has cash and fears the "lego" mounting

I like the size and most of the design that went into the build.  But one thing that is serious design flaw...the M.2 is on the backside of the mobo  where presumably it is very difficult to get at.  Probably not impossible though to install one.   For gaming it would be fine.  But I wouldn't spend that much for something without NVMe PCIe SSD option

As a comment on the mentioning of the warranty, it is important to understand that the warranty on the prebuilt system is objectively worse.

 

When you build a PC, you get multiple individual warranties, all of which are longer than the warranty provided by corsair.

 

They provide you with a warranty that is 2 years long, but requires you to effectively mail the entire system in when something fails.

 

On the other hand, with a system you build yourself, you are often getting:

A 3 year warranty on the motherboard, and CPU.

A 5-10 year warranty on the SSD (depending on model).

A 3-5 year warranty on the hard drive.

A lifetime warranty on the RAM.

A 5-6 year warranty on the liquid cooler.

Quality power supplies often have a 10 year warranty.

 

In the past, it used to be that some parts from a prebuilt system, could get warranty service if you used the serial number of the item (they would consider the warranty start as the date of manufacture instead of date of purchase, if no proof of purchase.

Today, you cannot find any parts like that, instead they all now use special serial numbers that indicate that the part came as part of a prebuilt system. These parts are often significantly cheaper, as they are sold to these companies without having to take into account support costs, or RMA services.

 

Overall, when you go prebuilt, you are getting a system that is often less serviceable, especially if they have clauses which can cause you to lose your warranty by opening the system., thus they are less likely to get regular maintenance such as cleaning out the dust.
