Call for more advertising of LTT F@H and Boinc Teams

It's a shame there isn't more going on here. What do you guys think about advertising our teams, maybe as a little side note on the LTT channel?

Wouldn't it be easy to say "btw go find out about our distributed computing teams!" with a link at the end of each episode where they link all kinds of stuff anyways?

Interested in your opinion.

They did it a while ago:

I think it's worth a revisit, especially now that AMD has released their new processors.  I'd love to have my hands on one of those 1700's, I'd be swimming in primes.

I totally agree. A Ryzen build would be amazing for Boinc and the 10series nvidia cards have brought an impressive increase in computing power to F@H.

Actually, not really. Bad floating point performance as well as severe RAM limitations (Ryzen can't really OC RAM very well) means that Intel SKUs will do better at that.

But yeah, for stuff that's non FP and RAM intensive (say, WCG), you bet Ryzen will be amazing.

They mentioned it here and there a while ago,

especially on the wan show. I haven't been

following their content that thoroughly lately,

so i can't say for sure, but it does feel like they

have stopped giving it attention.

Maybe we could get a shoutout when the folding
team reaches the 10'th spot on the leaderboard :P

Huh that's a little disappointing, I wonder if it would still come out on top though if you factor in the ridiculous number of threads versus say the 7700k which is around the same price.  I definitely see you point though, guess I have to go look at even more benchmarks now lol.

The Ryzens do well in F@H on A7 units too.  Then again, A7 units are nice to see on any CPU.

Is this what led to Linus referring to SETI@Home in the latest youtube video (Console-Killer POWERHOUSE PC) ??

Either way, great to see reference to BOINC again!
