1080 ti FE or aftermarket cheaper?

Quite simply I'm planning on watercooling it so I don't care much about the air cooled aftermarket designs. I am more curious if these aftermarketsites are going to be cheaper or equal to the founders edition? Here in Australia the 1080 ti Fe is $1250 close to $950 USD. It's actually stupid...

How do the prices scale with GTX 1080's?  I live in Canada with similarly wonky prices and the 1080 FE is usually the cheapest, but often beaten by aftermarket GPU's on sale

Is this even a question? Wouldn't you rather have better temps, OCing,and a prettier card?

Honestly I don't think all the retailers have adjusted the prices yet here in Australia. Some of the 1080s cost just as much as TI. But it's still 900 Au for a 1080 I would rather pay 200 more for 30% or higher performance gain

I'm not saying to buy a 1080, 1080 ti is kick-ass.  You may be able to judge the price delta between the FE and aftermarket cards by the precedent the 1080 set is all

Yes the stock cooler regardless if it's FE or aftermarket is going to sit in a box. In the past FE have cost more and aftermarket less but with this edition Nvidia has been saying it dropped it's FE premium. That premium cut I assumed is usually the wiggle room aftermarket cards have I'm wondering if they can beat out the FE or at best tie. For the block I'll get the EK so it's compatible

They should be roughly the same price, aftermarket would be likely even more expensive.

 

If you're watercooling it, get reference/FE. The only reason I'd bother with a different one instead of the FE is if it had better power delivery or something like that.

You can wait like 1-2 weeks for Amazon to open International orders on the 1080Ti and get one from there, it's $700 USD, which is around $950 AUD after shipping

 

FE is compatible with most blocks so I'd say go for it

Yeah that's what I did with my 780 TI problem is GST/ import cost roughly 10% and the shipping is usually 100+ and if something God forbid goes wrong... well.  Maybe I could do an order with other aussie and split the cost of shipping xD

I recently bought my 1070 SC through Amazon, if it's under $1k AUD it's no import tax now, and shipping was $30..
