i'd dare to say that anything needing fixing is software/firmware wise, so if you buy now it'll be patched out trough bios updates.

beyond that, the problems i've seen talked about seem to be all very minor things like:

limted overclockability (not that much of a dealbreaker if you cant hit 5GHz tbh..),

benchmarks showing inaccurate results (i mean.. you arent buying your pc just for the benchmarks, i'm guessing),

IOMMU groups with virtualization passtrough (if this is a weird asian language to you, it's not something to worry about)

So my CPU arrives in like 2 weeks. Is it smart to maybe wait like a month for maybe already updates mobos? Cuz I heard asus mobos can get bricked while updating bios

that's not really a problem anymore, if you dont do anything obviously stupid (like turning off the system mid-update) there's pretty much nothing that can go wrong.

as for asus speciflcly.. i've never heard that, and it honestly sounds like someone *managed to brick his mobo* and because he was an idiot he blames the manufacturer for something that *cant possibly have been his fault* before screaming that loud enough to make people believe it as a truth.

Any motherboard can get bricked when flashing a BIOS.

It is actually fairly common.

You don't need to do anything wrong, many times you just start the flash, it gets half way, and gets stuck there and never finishes.

Only thing you can do is power off, and the board is bricked.

This is why you should never update a BIOS unless you 100% need to, for example when trying to use a kaby lake CPU on a 170 board.

It still happens. Nothing has changed...

Maybe you're just seeing less.

The asus Hero board will brick itself quite often during a BIOS flash using it's USB flashback.  The most successful method (the one I use) is EZ Flash in windows.  Done it 4 times.
