I`ve ben saving up for a new computer for quite a while now... And now the time of the actual purchase is getting closer and closer, but I just realized that I don't know what I want to go for.... I'm looking for the best bang for the buck I can get, so if you have any advice I will be more than happy to listen to it.. the only thing is that I would like the laptop to have a 17inch screen.

3000 USD on a laptop doesn't make sense. Anything above 2200 USD doesn't even get you a better laptop.. Because at that point you got an i7 7700HQ and GTX 1070, but you can also get that stuff at 1500 USD. Maybe you get a 1060 at that point..

MSI makes pretty much the best gaming laptops (in my experience), HP Omens are also pretty good.

I am going to be using it as my main computer because I need a good computer for school (engineering) and for gaming, 3d printing  and movies at home. I don't really need it to be to super portable...
