Have anyone dealt with Corsair's SP2500.

These speakers sound amazing for the money, however the cables are proprietary... Not standard compared to other speakers. Recently, I blew the subwoofer, barely burned in. Don't know how, I have not increase the volume or the sub up. Been listening in moderate volume level.

Anyone with some experience with this speaker? How did you guys fix the subwoofer? Thinking of buying a 8" sub with similar spec and replace the blown one. I've contacted Corsair, but the problem is that because this is an old product there aren't many available. They want me to ship the entire system back without the guarantee that I will get a new one back.

A little bit too early to think about upgrading, but what are people's take on the A5+ and the addition of a subwoofer? From what I heard, it doesn't make much sense. But others are saying adding a sub makes a great difference.

Just get different speakers. Start with a 2.0 system and then add a sub if you really want to.

Any stereo system that produces decent bass without the need of sub? Heard the A2+ are pretty reputable.

What do you mean by "blown"?

At most 300.

The Klipsch Promedia 2.1 is nearly identical in performance, if not better.

My roommate have those. Heard from it, maybe.

Those are THX certified no?

Subwoofer will no longer produce any bass. The sub is suppose to move up and down to produce this bass. However because it is "blown" it could not do so. Could be the coil.

I haven't opened the box to figure out the exact cause because I do not want to void my warranty.

Who cares. THX certification is now a joke.

oh word??

Yeah. It's been watered down so that any piece of crap can get the THX logo slapped on it. What they don't tell you is that there are multiple grades of certification, and a $120 2.1 combo is not going to have anything but the minimum.

So the regular speakers work, but the sub makes no noise whatsoever? Or does it make any noise?
And the actual woofer itself looks fine (not torn or anything?)

Seems like the only THX certified speakers I see are tiny PC or home-theater-in-a-box speakers nowadays. Same with receivers.

The midrange and tweeters work perfectly. Nothing is coming out of the woofer.

Probably the coil or the amp. Not much you can do.

Probably the amp if you said you never pushed the bass.

Just RMA it, that's really the only thing you can do, unless you want to get creative with DIY to repair it, or buy another sub (though you still have to use the old sub to power the satalights)

That's what I've kinda been thinking. Finding a 8" sub is going to be kind of annoying cause the stuff I am normally finding are for car audio or has way too high power output.

DIYing my sub shouldn't cost too much I hope...
