I recently bought a new 4K tv. My plan was to use an HDMI switch to connect my PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch to the tv using a 10m HDMI cabel. Everything works fine with the 3 consoles but whenever I play a video file from the PC the video and audio stutters and a generally unwatchable. This happens both with local files and videos from the internet. I've tried several formats and resolutions but same thing.

I have tried connecting the cabel directly to my GPU without the HDMI switch and same thing happens. I have also tried using my laptop where everything works perfectly so I can conclude that it's neither the HDMI cabel or the switch that is the problem.

I have an Asus Strix GTX 970 in my PC and use Windows 10 64-bit and have tried updating the drivers without succes.

Does anyone on here know what the problem can be? Something with the pc's setting or drivers that I haven't figured out or could it be a bad HDMI port on the GPU? I have no way of testing a different GPU at this point

@DanishPrinceIf you can, try a different monitor. Try safe-mode. Try using the IGPU. Does it only occur with video content?

Motivation is where, and what you make of it.

“It is relatively unusual that a physical scientist is truly an atheist. Why is this true? Some point to the anthropic constraints, the remarkable fine tuning of the universe. For example, Freeman Dyson, a Princeton faculty member, has said, ‘Nature has been kinder to us that we had any right to expect.'”  Albert Einstein

What are the rest of the PC's specs? does it do the same thing plugged into a different display? Are you streaming it form YT or something? Does 1080p work fine?

I run dual monitor setup using DVI-HDMI and it works fine. I just tested using DVI-HDMI on the TV and same thing happens so it's not only the HDMI port that's the problem. I've tried several different resolutions both with online content and local files and I've tried different formats, Avi, Mkv, Mp4 and so on.
