I have my PC and all its drives in my room on the second floor of the house. Like most houses the second floor is obviously not concrete and is your average wooden floor boards. However the issue with these wooden floor boards (or maybe it's just this house, it's pretty dreadful) is that when someone is just walking across it I can feel the vibrations through my chair from the floor and therefore I am assuming the hard drive can also well and truly feel the vibrations through the case from the floor too.

This concerns me because it makes me question whether this could limit my drive's lifespan, reliability and increase the chance of a fail; recently happened to me actually.

Would elevating my PC's case off the floor with something like a stand be worthwhile in eliminating the effects of the vibrations from external sources outside the case?
