First things first. Strafe is mechanical, Ornata is not. Strafe has one of the best, if not the best, RGB lightings. Ornata has a MUCH better and nicer wrist rest. Neither has dedicated media keys. I personally have the Strafe RGB, and I can 100% suggest it to you. It's built like a tank, feels premium, the Brown switches are awesome for typing and gaming and the lighing is fully adjustable via the CUE 2 software (every key has its own led). Also Corsair uses authentic Cherry MX switches. Razer uses Chinese switches in their mechanical line (but that doesn't matter because Ornata is not mechanical).

I have the Corsair Strafe RGB and it is great, couldn't recomend it enough. As for the brightness as already said you can control it with the Corsair software but also there is a button on the keyboard that cycles through three levels of brightness and off.

My only main concern is the brightness of the backlighting and the fact that I will also be using this keyboard for casual typing.

Get the STRAFE, it has better RGB LEDs, better build quality (than the Ornata) and mechanical switches

Just Stop already with the Chinese crap. Its not like 20-30 yrs ago when everything was cheaply made in China. Most companies have their stuff made over there and they oversee it. Ever heard of Apple? Where do you think those are made? The USA? NO!  China! The switches Razer makes are every bit as good as Cherry. I own a Razer Chroma X TE with green switches and a Corsair K70 RGB with Cherry Mx Browns. The Razer switches are better. I'm actually writing this from a Brand new Topre realforce RGB keyboard and it smokes Cherry and Razer switches by a mile. The feel of the Topre keys is incredible. Its expensive, but worth it. This is truly the next level!

@Goat1 I'm not saying that products made in China are bad. Hell ofc I know where all this hardware is made. But this is because of taxes, cheap working hands etc (subject to change probably). All I'm saying is that Chinese products/companies mainly try to clone products designed by European or American companies and offer them for less money. But to reduce the cost they use cheaper components in the first place. That's natural since they want to compete with the American and European economy and they want to do it fast and aggressive.

I hear ya. Most of that is true. I've had tons of stuff out of China, Including $3000 speakers for listening to music and they were nothing short of amazing in build quality. The cheaper switches like Kaihl get a bad rap also. I had a Razer Chroma keyboard with those switches and they were really good. I gave that keyboard to my GF and she loves it. The Topre switches are from Japan and are by far the best.  You really owe it to yourself to try these Topre switches, the feeling is absolutely amazing. I'm writing this while using the Topre keyboard and its incredible.
