250gb ssd only shows 32gb of TOTAL space

I have a samsung 850 evo as my boot drive but it only shows up as 32gb of total capacity. Every solution i have found on google suggests upgrading the bios but even after doing so the issue persists. In the bios it shows having its full capacity.

 

Specs: asus x99 A II, i7 5820k, 16gb ddr4, asus 1070, samsung 850 evo, WD black 2tb, win 10

we're stupid too because we don't know what the problem was. knowledge is good if it is shared.
