Yes I have used Macs extensively... The only good thing about them is that they are Linux based, which they limit way more then they should taking away the many advantages of Linux. I could list for days why he should get something other then a Macbook.

That isn't true at all. Like at all. My friend last year bought a Dell laptop on sale for $800 that had a beautiful 17 inch 4k IPS display.

If I went for a new 2016 macbook pro I was thinking of getting the one WITHOUT the touch bar.

Is the 2015 better then the 2016 macbook pro without the touch bar?

Overheating due to the multiplied performance. Trackpad depends on what model we are talking about. Speakers won't argue with. The battery life are great on a lot of their laptops considering the horsepower, what are you smoking?

mac book pros are good on the long run, my late 2013 macbook pro 15 inch  is still running extremely well bonus combined with solid build quality, i would argue best build laptop in the market is MacBooks.

And Dell XPS laptops from the same era are still running also. I'm not saying Macs aren't high quality, because that'd be a lie, but they're still not worth the Apple tax. You can find some solid deals used though, that I do recommend, because I do agree that Macbooks are probably the most reliable laptops, my cousin has a 2008 or 09 Macbook white still going strong which has survived five kids and four dogs. lol

If you're gonna buy a 2016 pro, just buy a 2015. Chances are you'll get a better deal, and the 2015 (and before) design is just SO much better imo.
