Asrock really is the best mobo company.

So yea, I guess it would be hearsay and opinions if i didn't explain why so here's why

ive had probably 4 asrock mobos 2 of which i sold and 2 i still have, and ive had absolutely the best experiences with them 2 of which being x99 mobos which for some reason hardly any company can get right in terms of stability. not only did asrock succeed in that, they succeeded in begin one of the cheapest and offering the best feature set then damn near every other mobo in its price range. The x99x killer is a damn nice mobo but is now showing its age a bit due to the 3.1 and advances in x99 chips and such and here recently i bought a x99 professional gaming i7 mobo which literately has everything. 2 m2 slots wifi bluetooth and about everything else you could ever need.

 

so now on to why their the best mobo company out. ive had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with 2 rma with asrock, both of which were my fault... well one is definately mine and the other im pretty sure msi is at fault but i cant verify, but anyway. 

My first rma was when i was putting water in my loop and spilled it on the motherboard. killed my x99x killer instantly. thought it was dry but it wasnt. anyway i sent it in through rma and got it warrantied and shipped back in a week total. literately arrived at asrock on the 17th and shiped back out on the 18th. and arrived 3 days later. one of the best experiences ive ever had in terms of rma.

 

RMA number 2 was just a few weeks ago, you may or may not remember a pc fire i had. Forum post below. but anyway long story short i think the gpu shorted and literately caused a fire in my pc. (pics in the forum thread below) anywya it did physical damage to the mobo and no company that ive seen warranties phisically damaged parts. welp not asrock. sent it in and in less than a week i now have another x99 pro gaming i7 headed my way. 

 

thats 2 rmas that ive had a great experience with and multiple products that have performed well above their price ranges. i will say their customer support is kinda shit because it took like 5 days to get a reply to a message i sent but thats a small price to pay. id rather have a damn good rma service over a good cs that usually does nothing anyway.

2 mobos both damaged technically outside of warranty, both replaced in under a week. How can you not complain.

 

also dealing with a msi rma which im now considering not going being how fuckin sketch their rma is going right now actually... supported them for years and its been 2 weeks on a rma and no updates and in fact their rma site actually reverted back from gpu arrived to prior to arrival. contacted cs and got a half ass response that didnt answer my question.

As someone with an ASRock board (and only good experiences with it thus far), Enderman has a point. Your support is based on personal experience -- other words, anecdotal -- not facts, like your title implies.

Yeah, I love AsRock too! Bought a cheap board, upgraded Bios and overclocks easily plus is really stable. Couldn't ask for a better M-ATX Mobo (For now)

Call me a fanboy but I've built tons of computers(I built out computers for a school district and build computers consistently 5-6 times a month for other people) and my first stop is ASUS. Never had a single problem, I've had to RMA numerous ASRock and Biostar motherboards. Never had to RMA an ASUS.

I have an Asus X99 Deluxe and it's never had a problem, Asus really is the best mobo company.

I have a Foxconn X58 Bloodrage and it's never had a problem, Foxconn really is the best mobo company.

I have an nVidia 680i SLi and it's never had a problem, nVidia really is the best mobo company.

His point is that an anecdotal is not valid basis to prove a fact; you cannot say: "Drugs and smoking aren't bad for you. My grandfather lived to 94." That is provably wrong.

 

You are presenting -- and continuing to argue -- that "ASRock is the best motherboard company." as a fact. You just invalidated your own argument at the end -- purely anecdotal. I'll run down the list, though.

  • Asus, MSI, XFX all have shitty RMA... but people have poor experiences with ASRock, too. Google shows 113,000 results for a search on "ASRock poor RMA"
  • Sorry, but limited features? You get more with most high end boards than you do with ASRock. Again -- I use an ASRock board, trust me, I know.
  • Your anecdotal experience with the Asus X99 boards are bad. That does not make it factually bad. In fact, Amazon reviewers average giving all of these models 4 stars!

Not to be a dick, but I strongly suggest you read up on what "anecdotal evidence" is and why it's not valid to claim as proof for facts.

yeah, their z170 pro motherboard is the cheapest out of all of the z170 mobos on PC case gear and their Xeon motherboards are cheap and insanely reliable. I would  tell anyone that needs a new z170 mobo to get a ASRock pro.

Stating "the best company" will always be subjective, or dependent on a particular metric if ever based on large datasets. 

 

Now, in the area of personal experiences I can also report good experiences. Built two PCs for relatives that already went 4 and 5 years without issues, and built one for myself with what I consider a great value for the money (despite me mistreating it :P). I also had a good experience with customer support: my mobo was advertised to have a usb-mouse-tweaking program that didn't come in the CD, and was not in the download page. When I Googled about it, I found some people complaining in forums, calling it a scam,  but no one asking ASRock. I wrote an e-mail, and in a day or two I got a reply telling me it was now available for download and to please test it. I got some error message, I reported back,  they fixed it in no more than a day, and told me to test again: this time it worked. 

The program itself wasn't very useful in the end, but dear owners of a 970 Performance motherboard: if you ever download and use Key Master, you're welcome :P

Anecdotal means that you're only using your personal experience as proof.

 

You said so yourself, user testimony is what matters. Not YOUR testimony.

User testimony consists of everyone who has bought a product, not ONE person who has bought a product.

 

Saying "X is best because it works for me" is absurd and completely illogical, just like "X is worst because I had an issue with it"

Go find out the percentage of people who have issues, and use that to determine what is best.

And notice the word "percent" there, because for example if company X sells 1000 products and has issues with 100 of them, that is still worse than company Y which sells 1000000 and has issues with 50000 of them.

 

A typical person like you may see 100 issues vs 50000 issues and say "hey X is so much better than Y" without considering the amount of units sold, and the fact that 10% of X products have issues compared to 5% for Y.

X is twice as bad as Y.

Hopefully that helps you understand how stuff actually works.

I have had more Asrock motherboards fail than any other brand. I would say the opposite. But hey it's both ends of the spectrum. They aren't the best or worst.

Perhaps its due to ASRock being less popular, but I see a lot more failures of other boards. Over on Reddit and even here, ASRock seems to have the lowest rate of failure. So many horror stories with X99 boards, yet ASRock ones consistently remain good. Just don't know anymore.

TBH I don't notice much difference between the different brands... I think you should just get one that has the features you want. Pretty much any manufacturer is gonna have like a 2-4% failure rate and all of them (except EVGA?) will have off-shore customer support. Though I am impressed that they replaced your board that was caused by a GPU fire.

My first rma was when i was putting water in my loop and spilled it on the motherboard. killed my x99x killer instantly. thought it was dry but it wasnt. anyway i sent it in through rma and got it warrantied and shipped back in a week total. literately arrived at asrock on the 17th and shiped back out on the 18th. and arrived 3 days later. one of the best experiences ive ever had in terms of rma.

 

RMA number 2 was just a few weeks ago, you may or may not remember a pc fire i had. Forum post below. but anyway long story short i think the gpu shorted and literately caused a fire in my pc. (pics in the forum thread below) anywya it did physical damage to the mobo and no company that ive seen warranties phisically damaged parts. welp not asrock. sent it in and in less than a week i now have another x99 pro gaming i7 headed my way. 

 

thats 2 rmas that ive had a great experience with and multiple products that have performed well above their price ranges. i will say their customer support is kinda shit because it took like 5 days to get a reply to a message i sent but thats a small price to pay. id rather have a damn good rma service over a good cs that usually does nothing anyway.

2 mobos both damaged technically outside of warranty, both replaced in under a week. How can you not complain.

 

also dealing with a msi rma which im now considering not going being how fuckin sketch their rma is going right now actually... supported them for years and its been 2 weeks on a rma and no updates and in fact their rma site actually reverted back from gpu arrived to prior to arrival. contacted cs and got a half ass response that didnt answer my question.

MSI has a horrible RMA service. Had to RMA a board that was DOA. Made sure everything was in the box, went through the process and 3 weeks later I got it back without any notice from them. When I called them about it, they told me I had bent pins (am3+ board) and wouldn't discuss it further because it was user damage. After that  I said fuck it. $100 down the drain on it and not even a legit reason for them to not take it back.

Lets just stop arguing, companies do those "kind" things to advertise, just like this thread. They want to make their customers happy so they can share their experiences to other people, making them want to buy that product. That's what Asrock was probably doing, making  That_Random_Guy believe its the best company so he/she can share his/her experiences to "us" so we think that Asrock is best and will buy their products.
