No 1050 are not powerful enough to play...well any games except Minecraft. and that pretty much it for a GTX 1050. but if you were to get a 1060 that could improve the quality of Star Citizen.

1050 can play pretty much anything at 720p, and some at 1080p

The game is still in a very early alpha state and doesn't perform particularly well on anyone's hardware last I checked. Hopefully optimization later in the game's development will improve things.

Any particular reason why this game has an entire section for itself?

No reason than I can provide, anyway.

To be fair, I'm definitely not the right guy to ask. My involvement in the "Star Citizen community" is to ignore it for months at a time, then burst in to throw a wet blanket on the hype, before disappearing again for another few months.

I never heard of it until I join the forum to be honest and at least someone in the staff must really like it so it get such "honour" of it's own section, might be worth giving a look hehe, cheers [:

It could end up being a pretty cool game, I just would recommend extreme caution buying into it right now. I have some reservations about the levels of hype being generated for the developer's "vision" for the game, versus what the game actually is at the time of purchase.

What they intend for Star Citizen to be would be a really big deal if they pulled it off, and it would make sense for a huge community to form around it. I suspect that's why it has its own forum section. I just worry that to do so at this stage involves a lot of presupposition. :P

Define well. 60fps in some areas, if you connect to the persistent universe you can get 40-60 in Australian servers cos.. It's Australia

Slick is massively into it, we had the honour of second largest organization a long time ago and honestly it's probably the only game I've seen a mass of LTT community get behind and play and work together, when the original thread got to long we got a subforum and then when multiplayer came along we started having meet ups, from that we started a discord channel for people to organise stuff which turned into a community channel and unfortunately this subforum is now just a state.

To me, this was the last area where the older LTT community existed up until recently.

Is this game not officially released? I heard it offers space combat, trading and the thrill of exploring an environment where there are many others playing as well.

It will offer all that plus more. Huge ships, crewed by dozens of people and carrying hundreds. Life size planets and star systems. The list goes on.

And yes, not released yet. Still in alpha, but everyone who has pledged for a package can play it.

At the moment you can't do much more than shoot people on foot or in ships and fly around one system. The biggest ship currently flyable is relatively small, compared to what's in the pipeline, but still big enough to get lost in. :)

The first landable planets and moons are coming in July.
