I've had this 2700K at 5GHz 1.46v for around 3 months now, it was previously at 4.5GHz 1.3v ever since I got it back in 2014~. Temperatures are "Ok" when playing games 75C-80C, but stress testing/benchmarking easily maxes out at 90C. No throttling though as the max temperature is 98C.

I think if you get a better cooler, you should  be fine. Though I'm jealous you got 5.0GHz at 1.46v. I have 4.9GHz at 1.45v.

Though I have my temps in the 60-65C range on a H105...and delta fans in push / pull (what heatsoak? I can't hear you...)

I upgraded from my 2500K to a 2700K for $100 (Cheaper than going to kaby lake) and I'm quite happy with it. It holds up really well when OC'd. I'll probably upgrade when the 8th gen hits.

I'm not really that concerned if I kill my chip as I can probably grab a cheap 1155 i7 in the used market. But thanks for the infos, I will probably keep it at this setting and see how things go. I should be able to upgrade to an RX 590/690 or GTX 1080 Ti/1180 Ti without much major bottlenecking/suttering. But who knows...
