How to boot from a new drive using UEFI

Go to solution Solved by Wolf585,

Solved it. I just removed the HDD and it boots from the M.2 now.

I recently got a new laptop, and put in another ssd to boot from. I would like to know how to boot from this different drive which is using UEFI.

Your question doesn't make sense.

A drive can't be using UEFI? Do you mean the Windows install is UEFI or the laptop is UEFI but the Windows install is not?

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Do they both have OSes installed on them? If so, try pressing your laptop's boot selection option (usually an F-key, F-9 for HP, F-12 for Lenovo, etc.) and it should give you the option to boot from whichever drive you like.

Assuming your laptop already is set to UEFI considering how new it is, no problems should arise.

I'm using an Alienware system, when I try to do that, there's no option to do that

UEFI booting depends on the OS, not the drive.
