Hi, I'm having the exact problem described by him:

http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/showthread.php?121660-USB3-drive-not-present-after-PC-boot

I use a Samsung D3 Station 3TB.

My motherboard is the same.

When I use the HDD conected to any USB 2.0 of the motherboard, it perfectly works, but transfer, read and write speed are very slow.

Etron USB 3.0 is way faster, but every time I restart PC, Windows tries to install a unknown driver and fails. The HDD is not detected until removed and connected again.

I tried a couple of drivers of motherboard's and Etron's page, but it does no difference.

I need a controller that is always enabled, like a native USB port, instead of controllers that only enables USB ports when Windows is loading.

This problem with Oculus Rift is similar. The controller he suggested (Inateck) probably would work for me, but it is very expensive and can be taxed.

There is no one controller sold on Aliexpress that is compatible with a permanent external HDD?
