Why did they show the computer screen using a camera? I could barely make out what was in the spreadsheet.

Because Wendell was the smart one.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

Newb question here: I agree that it was a terrible way to show the screen but what would a good way to have done that be?

A capture card. But I'm fairly sure Wendell took the last one.

Ah.

I assume there's no way to go seamlessly between camera view and the live computer screen image?  Or is there?

Screen capturing.
Logan just didn't bother.
Not too big a deal tbh, it's numbers, but in terms of production the quality isn't up to par to other reviewers.

Wendell worked from a completely different location and didn't have a card when he started L1T.  So either Qain got the card, it broke or half-beard sold it to buy a fursuit or something.

Not even going to watch the vid, he's just not worth my bandwidth.

I'm joking around, calm down. But I'm fairly sure you're right (fuck, tired)

It is a static spreadsheet on the screen. Print-screen works fine for that, then put the image in the video output. They could have made some graphs etc to make it more appealing to the eyes.

If they had to show a mouse moving around pointing to numbers and didn't have a capture card, there are plenty of screen capturing software solutions. Considering they mentioned many times that the CPU is good for screen capturing and streaming, it should cope well enough for this.

Do they need to 'seemlessly' do so? Pointing a camera to show they are sitting in front of the computer when they are reading numbers off an excel spreadsheet is redundant.

Me too, I just skipped to the excel spreadsheet, paused and read it though.

I suppose not.  It wasn't meant so much as a commentary on the video as it was a question of "is there a way to do this?".

I was watching a video where they were having a debate over whether this girl's hair was white or white-blue.

brain went poof! and I wrote 'white' instead of 'right'

I hope his new channel goes down the toilet.

It's certainly circuling the drain and Level1techs (Wendell and Company) has a healthier status for basically a new channel:

Good to see. With a fraction of the subs Wendell is surpassing him significantly in terms of subs/views

idk

I'll be honest. I prefer Wendell's take on things, and his style of presenting. (He's an unapologetic geek) Logan tends towards edgier, but doesn't present the nitty gritty of a review as well. If you're going to see a well reasoned, balanced review on the latest ryzen chips, Wendell is more likely to present it, and support his arguments. Logan is more likely to just say "It's good, buy it."

it's hard to really estimate in such a short timeframe, but they seem to have dropped about 50-75% of their audience (remember, what is now crit, used to be the main channel), and L1techs, which used to be the secondary hardware channel, is quickly outgrowing them.

It is. Confused the hell out of me when I was wondering "What is crit TV, and why the hell am I subscribed to them?"
