3.9ghz is high?

That would be pretty depressing if that's where it capped out.

That moment when 3.9ghz is a 'high overclock'.

Hope R5 reaches that easily, better be 4.5

That would be kind of depressing if true.

ryzen is stilling right on the edge of the power curves with stock on the 1800x. Your not getting much more. 4.2 if your lucky.

don't think so. Its probably the same die, and were running into voltages that are too high, not a power or thermal limit.

Well, since it was automatic OC I would argue that 3.9 from 3.3 is quite high.

Depends I guess, my Gigabyte board can auto overclock my 7700K up to 5GHz but I feel like it would melt if I used that considering my cooler as well as the fact that it will put too much voltage into the it.

I'm aslo interested in CPU temps, and what scores you get in cinebench (single and multi threading performance).

And yes, Ryzen isn't that good at overclocking. AMD already sorted out which CPUs won silicon lottery, and branded them as 1800X.

Cooler, temperatures, screen shot of Aida64, CPU-Z, Cinebench score?

Please?

CG btw.

Here you go :) I used the AI Suite III and it did all the work for me. I'd like to add that the  motherboar takes an 8pin CPU pin + 4 pin and I did not have a 4 pin so that is not connected. I believe the extra 4 pin is for better overlocking???

I know manually overclocking would get me a few more Mhz but this is good for me.

Overall score seems good, but may I ask if you also tested for single core performance?

Yeah single core test takes a lot of time.

AMD did improve by a lot, but single core performance still isn't that great.

If BDO was well optimised I would buy that Ryzen in a heartbeat, but sadly my game still needs better single core performance to play at healt half decent.

But Ryzen is the future for gaming if you ask me. At least for new games that comes with new engine and great API optimisation that can acctually utilise all those cores :)

Possibly see if you can fiddle with the core priority. It was probably running on thread 1 which means that if something was running in the background then you got screwed by that.

Same thing. I did a single thread test before, this is a single core test (the actual test designated for single core performance benchmark) but looks same.

I play BDO too it runs at 30-40 fps at highest settings every option included but this pc (my gf's) has a gtx 1060.

Well to be honest BDO looks just fine when you are grinding mobs alone. But as soon as there is larger group like boss fights, FPS will go down to toilet.

Not to mention Heidel and Calpehon ... I sometimes get even less than 20fps running trough cities.

Still not sure if FPS would increase even if i used i7 7700k at 24GHz ... this game just needs better optimisation I guess.

By far the worse optimized game I've ever played.
