Hello,

I want to buy a new computer with OS on SSD Intel 600p M.2 NVMe. But i wonder what mobo should I buy.

I wanted to buy an MSI B150 PC MATE first but even it has an m.2 slot it's not compatible with NVMe ssd and I'm getting little confused about M.2 and their compatibility with mobos.

Can someone explain me what types of m.2 and mobos are compatible and what is the cheapest mobo that support this m.2?

Thanks for reply.

M.2 is a physical connector, like USB type-C

the protocols devices that use that connector can vary. in your case, the only protocol that can be used on the B150 PC MATE m.2 connector is SATA.

Thanks, so just to make absolutely sure this mobo supports 32Gb/s NVMe so I'll be able to boot the os to the M.2 NVMe ssd.

Just check the specification sheet for mobo just to make
