No it is not. i7 4770k still a decent cpu. I'd get a new gpu

My current system: gtx 970 i7 4770k 8gb ram

When should i upgrade my cpu? with the new amd ryzen coming.

That CPU should be solid for at least 5 years. What you consider upgrading is the GPU. Wait for Volta or Vega GPU maybe?

CPU is fine. Could upgrade your gpu.. but if its running just fine then I dont see why you would need to.

well that totally depends on what you do with your computer. if you only game then i would say there really isnt any point in upgrading your cpu but if you have a need for more cores then it may be a good time to get a high core count cpu from amd.

No it is not. i7 4770k still a decent cpu. I'd get a new gpu

i guess i goofed then since i just bought the gpu a year ago... well well it works fine for now thanks
