Asus ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO vs STRIX Z270-E GAMING

Both are nearly the same price. One has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support but the other has way more USB 2.0 / 3.0 ports. (I have no use for 3.1 at the moment) I also read that the Strix has Bluetooth issues. Wi-Fi is not a deal breaker for me, but Bluetooth is a definite plus.

Which one should I take? Maybe an alternative? Strix & internal / external USB hub?

Thanks!

I think it really depends on taste the only big difference between the boards is the ability to overclock your ram to 4333Mhz on the hero and the maximum on the strix is 3888Mhz

and of course as you said yourself the Bluetooth and wifi can be important but if you get a good case don't you already have enough usb ports? i would go for the strix but that's my personal taste.

For a motherboard that is cheaper and *imo* looks better you get bluetooth and wifi, i'd totally go with the Strix. I've found myself using 5 USB ports all the time, and with a case you should get 2-4 more ports, so i doubt that'd be a problem

If you're like me and need the USB ports and would like Bluetooth just get a USB Bluetooth transmitter and plug it into a USB port when you need it. The Hero is a really nice board.
