Is This Windows 10 Tablet Worth It?

Orangeator

Looks good but how does that price compare to a Lenovo 2 in 1 when you factor in the keyboard dock?

It's currently $480 on Newegg... It even has USB C 3.1. I will use it for note taking once I start college. Opinions?

No way man, used thinkpad all day for the better keyboard, just replace the hard drive with an SSD and you're set

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Whole point is mobility and an attractive screen.

I have the surface pro 3 for collage. One thing i have found is that not having a ridged keyboard that supports the stand is that some lecture theatre have a small fold out desk and it can get annoying in long lectures.

I would like something similar (portable/easy to use/powerful) and maybe a vertical docking station for space saving features. :)

The thinkpad is mobile enough though, and the small laptop isn't going to be as nice to type on

but otherwise there's this Lenovo thinkpad, 11" 256gb SSD, 1080p display, for under $300

Stylus support is going to be indispensible for college notetaking, especially if you're going into a field that involves any kind of math or drawings (anything other than social studies, essentially). Acer unfortunately uses Synaptics for the active pen, which isn't ideal. The specs are otherwise easily good enough for a notetaking device.

If you're a bit adventurous, though, I'd encourage you to check out Chinese Windows tablets; Techtablets does constant reviews on a number of high profile ones. The Cube i7 book, for instance, has gained some notoriety for being an improvement in many ways on the still relevant Surface Pro 2. It uses the exact same screen, a lighter chassis, a better keyboard, the same Wacom EMR stylus that the Surface line should have stuck with (it's still the best technology, and there are plenty of aftermarket pens). Roughly the same battery life as the Acer, which isn't stellar at a bit over 5 hours. Charges via USB C as well, with an absurd amount of IO for a device its size. Pricing is extremely good at $269 for the tablet on Banggood, plus ~$90 more for a keyboard and good aftermarket pen.
