DIY pc desk (replica of Linus pic desk)

Hi! I saw the diy desk pc on LTT and I was blown away of how good it looked, and wanted to build one my self. So now I am 2025 bucks (usd) poorer and have a couple of hundred left until it is done! And here is some pics! Feel free to add som tips or just join the journey!

These desk PC's!  you guys are killing me, I really need to get off my butt and get something built.  I've been spending way too much time in sketchup lately.

Can't wait to see how it progresses!

So I am working on a build myself and am currently looking at some of the less common hardware AKA the screws that go into the wood and the motherboard standoffs mount on. Would you mind telling me what it is that you are using and if you like them or not?

Okey! So I used motherboard standoffs as you use in a standard case. Just drilled 3mm holes measuring from the motherboard screw holes. And gently screw them in. Here is a pic:

An alternative way is that you just use small wood blocks as standoffs and screw the MB in to those.

Oh so you are not even using threaded inserts? Do they seem sturdy without them, I never really considered doing that.

Nope! I have test mounted the MB and it sits just fine :)

Here's an update!

Now I have put in corners to hold the glass in place, and I don't know what they are called in English but a thin wood piece to cover the LED strip. And all the holes for the tubes and mounting brackets..And many, MANY hours of sanding! Ready for paint tomorrow!

I would say like a 5.. Its not that complicated, I have some experience in wood work so it was pretty easy.. It is tuffest on the wallet :P And if you have the store you buy the wood from to pre-cut it, it should not be a problem for the average guy! Just don´t do it in a hurry, and take your time with it! Go for it! :)
