MSI GTX 760 Hawk Edition 2GB under performing, please help

dreamhacking

I just got this GTX 760 Hawk installed on my computer, and it perform worst than my Asus GTX 560 Ti ... I get lower FPS in all games.

I have video output plugged on the video card slot, have nvidia driver up to date. This card requires 2x 8pin and I have enough power supporting it.
Not sure why it is still underperforming, please help.

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/N760-HAWK.html#hero-overview

System Specs:

Intel i7-860

12GB DDR3 1333mhz

500GB 7200RPM HDD

Corsair CX750 PSU

Thanks

if usage is not optimized to 100%, what are the reasons holding it back?

Thanks

Try installing MSI afterburner to check if it is running at its 100% usage, also its temps to see if its thermal throttling. And if its clock speeds are set as supposed to for your GPU

Or HWMonitor, since there aren't settings in it that could fry a GPU xD

Whats fan Speed at? It might be throttling considering its a 760. Check that and reduce any prior overclock back to factory of the reference version should fix your problem.

That won't "fry" it. The gpu would throttle to prevent any real immediate damage, though in the long term it will affect the life of the component (but still not frying it). Frying it would be pumping 2V through the core, which is prevented by both afterburner and the card's bios.

Are you interested in help or not? You can't expect help and refuse to answer questions. We need to know temperature and utilization rates.
