[Build Log - Finished] Corsair Crystal 570X Watercooled Build

tikker

I decided to build my second pc and this time it will be a watercooling build in the new Corsair Crystal 570X. I'm going for a black/white color scheme componentwise with (for now) I think a blue fluid.

The PC parts are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  (purchased)
Motherboard: Asus STRIX Z270F ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (purchased)
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  (purchased)
Video Card: Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition (purchased)
Case: Corsair Crystal 570X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case  (purchased)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  (from old build)

For the watercooling components:

Radiators: DarkSide LP360 Extra Slim (front) w/ 3x Corsair SP120, DarkSide LP240 Extra Slim (top) w/ 2x Gentle Typhoon

Dye: Mayhems Blue Dye

CPU Block: EK Supremacy EVO Black Acetal

Tubing: Bitspower Crystal Link Clear 12mm OD / 10mm ID

Fittings: Bitspower Delux White: 8x 90 degree, 6x 90 degree rotary, 5x straight, 1x drain, 1x 4-way cube, 4x cap, 1x temperature sensor.

Pump: D5 with Bitspower top and modkit

Fluid: Demineralized water

The case aesthethically is beautiful, although it has some issues I found such as cable management not being super easy when testing my old build, due to the limited space (I'm using both 3.5" drive bays and a 2.5"). I really like the look of the glass panels though. Definitely one of the most beautiful cases I've seen :D So without further ado here are the pictures. The full album is here.

Just got my radiators in the mail today and the dyes. Unfortunately the white Nemesis radiators would not be available until next month, so I decided to go black after all and chose the DarkSide Dual LP240 and DarkSide Triple LP360 slim radiators. The packaging was the most ghetto packaging I've ever seen. It was basically just 3 cardboard pieces that used to be boxes ducktaped into one box :P

20170209_174917.jpg

Everything arrived just fine though. Now I can fit the radiators in the case start thinking about the tubing runs, reservoir placement etc. I'll coloring the fluid blue. I wasn't sure what exact shade I wanted, so I ordered all three dyes available: blue, dark blue and ocean blue.

20170209_180204.jpg

The radiators look very nice (only one came with end caps, what's up with that ?)

20170209_200515.jpg

and rapidly went and mounted them so I could do a test fit

20170209_203505.jpg20170209_203835.jpg

not realizing I screwed up until I tried to put the front back on... so time for  take two it was

20170209_205042.jpg

Fits like a glove ^_^

That's it for now. Going to do some planning next with the top radiator as well once I find some spare 120mm fans and think about reservoir placement.

Looking good so far. Do you mind if I ask you a couple clearance related questions when you're finished? I've been planning a similar build for a friend in a couple of months.

Thanks. Sure, ask anything you want. I can already say cable management is going to be tricky :P

I was wondering how much space you are going to have between your grapichs card and the frojnt radiator. Nice build btw

I ordered the reservoir (plus everything I needed to make it look better) so that should be arriving in a couple of days. In the mean time I decided to see what color the dyes would give. Turns out the shop I ordered made a mistake and Blue and Dark Blue are the exact same color :P

20170211_200609.jpg

The left most is Ocean Blue while the middle and right are Dark Blue and Blue respectively. I wanted to go pastel, but after seeing this I'm not sure anymore. Will keep this decision for the last ^_^

Sorry for the late reply, I had a little less time than I thought. The PCB of my GPU is 26.5 cm long, a few mm longer than then end of the PSU shroud. This leaves little under 10.5cm between the front radiator and the PCB of the GPU.

With the air cooler on it'll be a very tight fit with the reservoir installed.

More goodies have arrived :D

20170214_183947.jpg

The pump is a D5 PWM from EK. Those cables will definitely be sleeved :P I ordered just the bare pump since it'll live in a pump housing/reservoir combo by Bitspower. The housing will be a Deluxe White color with a black acetal pump top, topped with a 150 mL reservoir all by Bitspower. Sadly since there's an angled transition in the wall of the case I cannot mount it haning so it'll have to live on the ground or I have to mount it to the radiator somehow. For now, however, here are the pictures:

Hi there! i am planning on custom hard looping in this case too, and find it near impossible to put a rad at the top as the mobo sits too high and there's no clearance to fit a rad and fans in. Just wondering if you think you are going to have the same issue? How are you going to get around it?

Cheers!

The radiators fit in there fine, but it is very tight as you can see in the last picture. I did buy slim radiators (they're 27.5mm thick), because I already thought space would be a concern. I have no issues with the mobo height though, the radiator sits above the heatsinks there. The only small uncertainty now is whether my 90 degree rotary fittings will fit the front rad as there is little space between the top radiator and the front radiator inlets. This case is not an easy one to work in I'm finding out more and more as there's little space.

As for the project, if I put my current GPUs with aircoolers (not going to put 970s in the loop at this point) there's only one very specific location I can put the reservoir. I'm not sure if I should maybe wait for the 1080 Ti to come out (hopefully soon), because doing this will either require lots of fittings (expensive) or lots of bends for many small corners (which I don't know if it's possible). I'd also have to drill extra holes in the case bottom. I've got some thinking to do...

It's been a while, but I can finally make an update again :D Some time ago I ordered my GTX 1080 Ti from nvidia which is now happily running in my current system:

IMG-20170316-WA0005.jpg.5a72ef5cf87063994ec3ccbef877277e.jpg

I've also ordered most of the fittings and tubing so that's ready to go as well:

20170328_175026.thumb.jpg.56eded007ae0d1ef2efa2fdc8513a38a.jpg20170328_180733.thumb.jpg.a583246d421a2aab575ed40d95a0e182.jpg

and here is some test fitting to see how it will look like in the case. I think it's going to look quite nice. The radiator on the top is an extremely tight fit though... it is right up against the 90-degree fittings on the front radiator and sadly I've already damaged the paint on the rad and the fittings a little bit :(. It doesn't show however and I can make it work so once it's in there it'll be fine.

IMG-20170330-WA0002.jpg.d8cbf6b10392eaa4de84372b5e6f7834.jpg

That's all for now. I'll have to wait until EK releases their waterblock for the 1080 Ti and then I can start putting things together :) Until then, cheers!

So it's been a while, but problems are sorted and I've finally got all the parts to finish the build. So without further ado, let's get on with it! My 1080 Ti gettting ready for surgery

...to become a single slot card :D

IMG_1200.thumb.jpg.46d33ca1560b0f80720f5b579877990f.jpg

I'm really happy with the block. Although the FE cooler looks great as well, this has to be just a tiny bit better because it's a single slot.

I'm going for hardline tubing with dyed blue distilled water. Here are the first few pieces on the CPU block. The tubing is PETG and the fittings are Bitspower Deluxe White.

There are some tight corners in there for sure, but I will make it work somehow. More pics coming soon.

Dang, I am loving this thread.  I have the 570x and have the Corsair H110i radiator in front - looks ugly.

I want to put a full EK setup in there but their configurator says the SE240 radiator will fit in the top (24mm high).  My H110i (29mm high) won't fit up there once the fans are attached as it won't clear the VRM heat sinks on the Asus Z270F Gaming motherboard.

Looking forward to seeing more of this build, especially details on the top radiator + fans placement/clearance. :)

(P.S. As I look at the last pic I'm now wondering if I just need to install everything in a different order ... hmmm ...)

I highly recommend going with slim the slim radiators. It may sound weird, but I would've loved the one mm less on the front rad. I have no issues with heatsink clearance though for the top radiator, it's just a little tight between the top and front radiators when the fittings are in (hence the extra mm). I don't know why the H110i would give issues. The EK rad should fit though.

More pics coming tonight :)

Not exactly the aforementioned night, but here are some final pictures. It's done now :D (and yes my desk is a mess atm). Some tubes are not perfectly as straight as I would like them to be, but I cannot fix that without wasting tons of tubing. Overall I think it turned out to be a pretty nice loop. Only the lighting is a little too bright maybe. I'm thinking of adding something to make it more diffuse.img_1210.thumb.jpg.394c9691e4f8c55384ddb617ddb2875d.jpgimg_1219.thumb.jpg.b349236061eece1d7342cd1bd0b0d929.jpgimg_1220.thumb.jpg.5f747d801ba127fb1f0bb43411c734c3.jpgimg_1221.thumb.jpg.9c224640e8d17cf4a13e2f60d358f303.jpg

Dang, that looks SWEET.  Great job!  Super clean and the colour choice is very cool.

I haven't seen those radiators before but they look like they fit really well.

Awesome. :)

There's maybe 1mm of space between the fittings on the front radiator and the top radiator. My radiators are 27.5mm thick and I'd definitely recommend looking for a 25mm like EK's Slim radiators just for that little extra bit of cleareance.

The parts are in the first post, just search for those in a shop of your choosing. For the pump I ordered a bare D5 with some upgrade kits from Bitspower. The CPU and GPU blocks are from EKWB (which depend on your socket and GPU). The fittings and tubing are from Bitspower. The EK stuff I ordered directly from them, all the other stuff from a local store.
