What should I upgrade?

Mr alex

At the moment I have no money after buying my monitor but I would like to know what to save for.

my current pic specs are:

i was wondering what the first thing I should upgrade? I was thinking the gpu but I don't want any bottleneck issues and I know i have to get a new mouse. Hopefully soon I will be looking into a new case but not right now.

Basically I'm wondering what should I upgrade first?

You have a somewhat modern i5. Those aren't exactly being bottlenecked. In fact, older i5's (especially 2nd gen) are still gaming without struggling.

A GTX 1060 or 1070 will be fine.

ill go with the short answer of no. you shouldn't have any major bottlenecking issues with an i5 for the most part.

I might aim for an 8gb rx470

No, don't do that. You won't be able to push the card far enough to the point where 8gb would be useful. I personally have an rx 470 4gb, and it performs just as well as the 8gb model under the most it can take. If you have the money though, go for an rx 480 4gb instead.

GPU first and a SSD can make your system more snappy. But that might be a nice thing to do once you have to upgrade to new platform. Same goes for RAM unless you notice that you are short on it in certain situations.

So GPU now, possibly a SSD in between and then onwards saving up to new system + maybe screen if needed/wanted.
