Should you GPS TRACK your Children?

this world is chuck full of people who want to do terrible things and we need to be able to quickly find our little ones should that time ever come

It's not. Stop with your irrational fear-mongering.

Statistically speaking, your wife is more likely to kidnap your child than a stranger is.

Again, you are getting this worried and worked up about something which is less likely to happen than your child getting struck by lightning. You are letting something that is extremely unlikely to happen rule your and your child's life.

You're just trying to trick us so you can steal out children.

This is exactly why you should ABSOLUTELY NOT give away your kids' data to ANY company.

When the product reviewed in Linus's video stays recording and storing audio on the device or on a server, then that information will become relevant.

Taken too far. Kids won't be allowed to be kids anymore. I may only be 22, but if I had a gps strapped on me for all of my years before I left home, I would be a much less interesting person than I am now, that's for sure.

if a kid cannot explore on his own without a parent knowing where he is... he wont learn. do mistakes on your own: you learn from them.

be tracked: stoopid

No, trusting companies with sensitive information like your kids' location and whereabouts is a horrible idea.

Just recently, half a billion Yahoo accounts were leaked, as well as millions of Google accounts, not to mention the infamous yet recent Apple iCloud celebrity mega leaks. What makes you think a company like the above will be "the most secure" for your children's location data, names, photos, whereabouts, etc.? If the data is leaked and it falls into the wrong hands (addresses, and all) it would be an absolute disaster... No fear mongering here, this is very real and it can happen when least expected.

I enjoyed the vid and I felt like Linus made some pretty good points but I do take issue with one thing he said. He says at one point that people are unlikely to realize that the gizmo on the kids wrist or around their neck is a gps device. I would point out that paedophiles are in all likelihood a fairly tech savvy bunch seeing as they have to plumb the dark corners of the deep web to find their kiddy porn, and they use the internet to scope out and directly contact potential victims through chat rooms and forums. I'm sure any paedo worth his salt is going to know to take all electronics off the kid and dump them as soon as possible. As such I feel that this technology offers a sense of false security or even worse it could give shitty parents an excuse to not keep tabs on their children. No piece of tech is any kind of replacement for teaching your kids how to be safe and use good judgement.
