Time for a new build, what components do I keep?

I need something faster for video encoding and gaming all together. I game at 3840x1600 at 60hz. I mostly play WoW but casually enjoy modern games like the witcher 3 and BF1. Something to keep in mind, I purchased my computer from NCIX in august 2014 and it came with oem windows 10 software.

Does that mean I have to purchase windows 10 again?

My current system specs

Corsair 450D
Z97x-UD5H
i5 4690K at 4.5ghz
Noctua NH-D14
ASUS GTX 780 3GB
Samsung evo 840 250GB
WD 1TB blue
GSkill 8GB ddr3 at 1600
XFX 750W black edition

The video card, cpu and ram have to go for sure. A bigger SSD might be nice too since 250gb isn't much when most modern games typically take up 60+. The question is, 16gb at 3200 or 32gb at 3200? GTX 1080 or wait for the 1080ti? 6700k or 7700k?

Honestly, I've had zero issues with my SSD apart from its size (I hate having to reinstall games because it's just consuming bandwidth).

Also, I won't switch to AMD. Not a fanboy (had a Phenom II X4 940) back in the day. I just prefer to stick with intel this time around.

You will have to purchase Windows again.

I would keep your case (if you still like its looks), your cooler (unless you want to go liquid), and your drives. PSU if it's one of the good XFX units (check PSU tier list). Also keep your 780 (more on this below).

16 GB of RAM is fine for gaming.

If you want a 4K gaming setup, wait for the 1080 TI. If not, wait for AMD's upcoming Vega architecture. Even if you aren't interested in Vega, it will cause Nvidia to drop the price on the 1080. Use your 780 in the meantime.

I'm an advocate for always going with the latest and greatest in terms of CPUs, so I'll put in my vote for the 7700K.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.
