I changed my cpu and windows still reads it as the old cpu

I swapped my fx 4300 for a new 8320 and in windows it still reads as a fx 4300?? What should I do?? I'm using an MSI 760 GMA p34fx and this cpu is listed as compatible

Not use AMD until more Zen chips come out in like 6 months.

Where did you get that CPU reporting? Did you try a 3rd party software (CPU-Z)? What about task manager, can you see all the cores?

I got it brand new, It had the box and I read the writing physically on the cpu

There is a battery on your motherboard. Power down, take the battery out, wait 30 seconds, put it back in, and power back up

From your motherboard manual, page 24.

 

There's a jumper for that on the motherboard called JBAT1 just beside the battery. Change the position of the jumper for a few seconds.

EDIT: or as @Moderateshadow said, removed the battery for a few seconds. :)
