£650 Gaming build

Hey guys,

Im going to be building a gaming Pc for my friend and i need any opinions on anything that could be improved.

 

 

Parts:

CPU-   Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler-  Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard-  ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

RAM-  Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Storage-  Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU-  Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB STRIX Video Card

Case-  NZXT S340 (Black/Blue) ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU-  Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

 

Its a total of around £650 which is the target im going for.

Please tell me if there are parts which are better or parts on my build that is not compatible.

He is going for a black and blue colour scheme

You're paying retail price for past-generation hardware, and wasting money on an aftermarket cooler when you don't need one. Also, that power supply is horrible. As a result of unnecessary overspending, you have a graphics card that is woefully underpowered for the budget.

 

Here's a much better build for the money. It features a faster CPU, faster RAM, twice as much RAM and Storage space, a much better GPU, and a much better power supply. 

 

The only compromise is the case. If you want to keep the S340, it'll push your budget to about £675

If I were you I would drop back to 8 gigs of ram and get a basic 120gb ssd.

A bit over budget if you want to keep the S340 case and you'll have to get a 1TBB HDD later.
