Quantum computing is real, and D-wave just open-sourced it

read the posting guidelines before posting. you also can't open source quantum computing, quantum computing is a concept not a product. they open sourced their programming software for their line of quantum computers.

D-Wave's system is only useful in application in computing very specific problems, and isn't a general purpose computer by any stretch of the imagination. It's closer to a special purpose calculator (for optimization problems rather than arithmetic) than a conventional computer.
