I know i agree but my local computer store is out of stock for a week and im watercooling in a few days so i wanted to know if it was ok to wait a little for backplate, also are watercooling backplates just like normal ones to fit?

you can mount it afterwards, and as to easy to fit idk, just follow the instructions

It depends. Often, on reference PCB GPUs, the backplate that came with the card will work with a waterblock installed, but sometimes, often on non-reference models, the backplate that came with the card won't work, and you'll have to buy another from the people that made your GPU block. Often, the waterblock that you buy will say if the stock backplate is compatible or not.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

  • NVIDIA® TITAN X factory backplate is not compatible with this water block!

That's from the EK site (assuming you are going to use an EK block, which most people do).

In a water cooling build, so would I say a GPU backplate is required, as it takes any drips rather then the GPU it self, but not needed on a reserve layout build (cpu down). Drips from fittings dont normally hit the motherboard, unless you got a horizontal one, but GPUs are prime target for drips given where they sits in the PC.

Plus it adds some extra cooling for any GPUs with chips and such on the back.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

Just make sure you don't have to screw anything in from the bottom.
