ROGERS or Bell in the GTA (ontario)

ChrisxParkinson

Hey guys !

My family has had rogers for a very long time. Its consistently been inconsistent and I'm wondering if bell would be a good alternative. On their website it seems that the cost per mb/s download speed is higher, but bell also uses fiber... which to my understanding gives each individual a more direct connection to the ISP and you don't get the same problems of the internet fucking up during peak hours?

Is the price increase worth it? or are we fucked for internet anyway we go in this part of the world :P

i used to have Rogers 40/5 unlimited bandwidth paying almost $100 per month

I threatened to leave/cancel my service and they offered me 100/10 for $69/month for 2 years

I havent had any connection issues though. i Use a rogers modem, but have always used my own router (Netgear R7000) <-- USING YOUR OWN ROUTER IS CRUCIAL if you want a good connection

edit: $69/mo

even on a wire, the connection is often problematic.

but are you using the Rogers Modem/Router or your own router?

we are using the rogers 2 in 1 solution. That shouldn't be causing any problems on Ethernet ?

well ive never trusted the ISP provided 2in1 garbage. those have ALWAYS given me problems in the past with both Rogers and Bell

If youre happy with your Internet Plan (like speeds, bandwidth and price) i strongly suggest you try using your own router

What is your current plan, how much are you paying?
