the GPU backplate i think is optional. also maybe shorter tubbing. you also don't have to buy everything from EKWB

i was to lazy to make a list of parts so i used ek's website. i am not going to get a backplate or the fans. thanks for the suggestion of shorter tubing.

you dont need the psu thing. just use a paperclip. For a radiator, check this out https://www.amazon.com/XSPC-EX240-Profile-Copper-Radiator/dp/B0067LW8RY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483236955&sr=8-1&keywords=240mm+radiator

you dont need a backplate.

As for fittings, you could go with barbs, which can go for a little less, and finally go slightly cheaper fans.

^ that's your best bet.

I have all barbs in both rigs.

Paper clip on the psu sometimes.

Bought lot auctions of used/new fans on eBay. Some new and used rads too. Even bought a used block or two, not by choice.

should I get a used reservoir because ek are the only people selling it and it costs $85 BUT... it has $20 tax and $5 shipping

Just a res? Not a pump combo? Sure get anything used or not. Swiftech has a little one for like $20. Anything will work, including not using one.

I'd buy one used. I bought a cheap thermaltake pump res combo and it ran at a constant speed which way very annoying and loud. So if you get one make sure it's good quality.

You would need a matching pump. It's made for a d5, from what it says.

It doesn't say it's required.

you dont need the last 4 items, no need to buy their tubing, just go to a garden shop and find a transparent hose, i paid 4euros for like 3 meters i think.. it was really cheap. You can try finding a used block(make sure it's in good condition) and you dont need the backplate.. also, you could get cheaper fans.
