CAN I USE EXTERNAL BLU-RAY PLAYER/DRIVE TO PLAY DISC FORMED PC GAMES??

First of all, i'm not sure if this is the right place to upload this topic.

Hey guys, how's it going?

As the title says, i'm wondering if i could do that. the reason is, First, internal bluray is expensive AF. Second, i found this deal on Gumtree (it's like Craiglist but in Australia) someone is selling his Sony bluray player for AUD $15.

i really need help for this one so i could play games like Overwatch, or other PC games that is in form of a disc (dont ask why lol)

Any answer will be appreciated, and before i finish this topic,
Have a nice day :)

As long as it's locked to the right region (some just aren't and you may be able to change that if it is) you should be able to.

If you need to change the region, you go to device manager, select the drive, and go to properties.

Yes. As long as it's a PC Overwatch, it should work.

Er, guys, Blu-Ray region coding only applies to Blu-ray Video Discs.  There is no region coding for Blu-Ray (Or DVD or CD) as a data storage medium.  When used for PC storage, including PC games, the region locking of the drive is irrelevant.  Now, maybe the game comes with a CD key that is region specific, but that's irrelevant to the physical media that the install data is on or to the optical drive reading the disc.

People need to bear this in mind:

You can only change it a certain number of times.

Because nobody has asked this yet:

Is it a USB blu ray player or one that connects up to a TV, if it's the latter, then no, you can't play PC games with it.

The latter means the last thing I talked about.

So that would mean, "if you have one that connects to the TV"

In just one word.

That is not a computer compatible one, so you are out of luck. You cannot play PC game discs with it.
