Laptop screen flickering white at random

So my laptop screen started flickering at random. Any guesses on what the problem may be? Sometimes it's only for a brief second, sometimes for ~30 seconds, sometimes it will continue until I restart. Attached is a photo.

I have a Lenovo Y40-80 (warranty expired)

Intel Core i7-5500U

AMD Radeon R9 M275

has it been dropped or sat on? the ribbon cable inside might be loose

or you might need a new screen try pluging in a second monitor and see if that does it

It's not been dropped, sat on, or otherwise mishandled. I will open it up tomorrow and see if the cable is loose, though.

before you open it up try plugging in a second monitor and see if it does the flickering on that

Well, I opened up the bottom cover and made sure the monitor cable was not loose. It didn't appear to be, but now that I've put the think back together, it seems to be working.

Well, problem solved, I guess.
