Yahoo hacked again... 1 BILLION accounts.

Yahoo has said more than one billion user accounts may have been affected in a hacking attack dating back to 2013.

The internet giant said it appears separate from a breach disclosed in September, when Yahoo revealed some 500 million accounts were accessed in 2014.

Yahoo said names, phone numbers, passwords and email addresses were stolen, but not bank and payment data.

All I can do is laugh, I mean 1.5 BILLION hacked accounts within a few years... I mean really? I mean where do they go from here, and will Verizon try to get another $1 Billion discount over the first one they asked for or just dump them in the gutter where they belong.

EDIT: I'll fix formatting once I can get to a PC in a bit... mobile sucks.

Unless it's been really limited (and as long as everyone was using the web interface), everyone should have been nagged by yahoo for ages to change their password and add a mobile number for account recovery.

I still use Yahoo for crappy shit like porn and other garbage as I don't want to use my working gmail. If they hack my yahoo they will see how many porn I watch and that would just bore the shit out of them

Thankfully I don't use Yahoo anymore and any information hackers would get would be REALLY out of date.

Never used yahoo. Yahoo has been the scourge of the email world for years now.

My choice email over the years [well I say choice but half these were default email from services] - Juno, MSN, Q, Gmail, Live, Outlook. Today I only have the Outlook account and a personal family email server account (I wont reveal the personal server email).

I feel like the only one who uses yahoo xD
The only reason why I use it is because I think it's better than google+ and you can put different mailboxes onto it (I have like 3 gmail accounts attached to my yahoo account).

And also I've used it for basically everything (except work) so I can't be bothered to move to a different email service

hello!

is it me you're looking for?

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

Both my parents and grandparents use Yahoo, I can't seem to convince any of them to stop.

I mean seriously, Yahoo is chock full of sketchy ads(Yahoo News) and the email inbox is weird as hell.
