Should I use dual link DVI-D or DisplayPort for a 144hz 1080p monitor?

Michael Rahmani

I just got a 1080p 144hz monitor (Asus vg248qe) and it only came with a dual link DVI-D cable and no DisplayPort cable. I was wondering if it makes any difference at all, if I use DVI-D instead of DisplayPort. Is the quality all still the same?

Also, I have this GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487001

I mean, color depth might not be as great, but otherwise you'll be fine

Alright thanks. I'm gonna use dual link DVI-D until I get a DisplayPort cable. Do you think the difference in color depth is huge or only a slight difference?
