I just got a 1080p 144hz monitor (Asus vg248qe) and it only came with a dual link DVI-D cable and no DisplayPort cable. I was wondering if it makes any difference at all, if I use DVI-D instead of DisplayPort. Is the quality all still the same?

Also, I have this GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487001

use either display port or hdmi.  dvi dosent support up to 144hz

Yes it does.

My brother's 144Hz monitor supports it through DVI. Don't see why OP's wouldn't.

Alright thanks. I'm gonna use dual link DVI-D until I get a DisplayPort cable. Do you think the difference in color depth is huge or only a slight difference?
