What exactly do you want to do?

 

You don't just "Hack" some one. You have to know the whole system and where the weaknesses are. Also you have to hunt for them yourself aswell, as most of the major published ones will be fixed. You can't just track locations and find ip's easily, esp since you have no experence.

There used to be a site called hackthissite that covered over the basics like sql injection though I am not sure if it is still around.

 

A good idea would be to learn the inner workings of operating systems or systems such as website so that you can learn how they are exploited such as SQL inject, XSS amd others.

 

of course to learn you should probably get some programming under your belt to you can better understand scripts.

Of course there is, but most of those stupid courses are garbage.  They teach you how to use tools like Metasploit or tools to check the status or probe for certain services but in the end they suck in my opinion.  If you want to get into white hat hacking, then start to program, and learn about computer science, computer networking.  

 

You would be better off getting a course on computer science and a programming language like c# and trying to build some c# programs that actually do useful things, and then move on from there.  Learning Perl would be better, because then you can move onto reading exploits and then writing them.  I moved from being into Security to now being more into DevOps.
