It was. Full of chocolaty goodness and about as dense as an anvil.

 

NOTHING got done that day. Everyone was working hard at digesting that cake and nothing else.

 

Actually, all my cakes have that effect on people. I made that cheesecake for my brother's birthday earlier this year, and even he had trouble eating more than one slice, and the guy LOVES cheesecake.

 

He still devoured it pretty quickly, considering. I think he saw it as a challenge.

 

The apple pie I made a week ago for my mother's birthday was also quite 'chunky'. she ended up giving half of it away to guests because it was too much for her. My stepfather doesn't eat cake and my little brother doesn't care about anything other than cheesecake, so I took some, her friend took some, and she kept half of it.

 

It was fucking delicious though. Just your regular apple pie with cinnamon, but also topped with cinnamon-walnut streusel.

 

 

Anyway, while I am on the topic of my baking escapades:

 

Got some gingerbread dough sitting in the basement. I made the dough in August and am probably going to finish it up shortly before Christmas. Finger's crossed that it didn't go bad. Though the dough is half honey, half flour, so it should be naturally resistant, and the container should be airtight.
