Will Battlefield 1 become better optimised?

ThatGingerKid

So I've been having bf1 issues, I run an 880K from AMD and an RX 460. It doesnt seem to matter what quality its on, either maxed out or the lowest possible settings, it always sits in the 30fps range and dips into the 20s. I stared into the distance with 35fps on low, then maxed it out and still had 35??? could this be an issue with my new system or is this just typical of a new un-optimised battlefield game?

Aha, in my opinion the battlefield series are amazingly optimised, not the best, but still great, your CPU is definitely the issue. my 8350 and 290X can still maxed BF4,1080@60FPS no problem, you should consider switching to a new architecture or plain switch to intel :)

Generally speaking games do sometimes get more optimized over time.

Your CPU is kinda old. How does it perform in other modern titles before you buy a new CPU, or MoBo CPU combo?

BF1 probably won't be better optimised, this is EA after all.

Is your 880K overclocked? Perhaps that will bridge the gap.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

the previous BF games are fine but BF1 has been riddled with issues.

Mid tier settings are buggy

resolutions and scaling issues and most notoriously memory leaks that lead to over 13gb mem usage

Nahh, the conductive coating on one of the coils in my PSU went brittle and cracked off, so it overheats and causes the PC to crash, new PSU wont be here for a week or so.

It's either a bottleneck or a driver issue. Consider reinstalling.

At 1080p on medium settings, a 460 average over 60fps.

At 1440p medium, it should average over 42fps.

Both are much higher than what you're reporting.

The 880K was the only CPU I could fit into my budget without having to go with an R7 250 as my GPU, UK pricing is a bit odd right now, especially for RAM. Argonne forest runs at 60 fps on 64 man server, as does a few others (I forget the names) but theres a couple that are just brutally unplayable. It leads me to believe that the game is needing some work and more driver revisions are needed.

I've had little to no issue with BF1. It's been smooth as butter but that being said, my hardware is better. You may just have to wait and hope DICE fix the issues you have. Perhaps post on the EA forums about it, they may ask you to upload a Dxdiag log or something to see.
