Sharp made another bezel free smartphone-this time with curved edges

So as you know, Sharp really knows it's job when it comes to bezel-less displays with their Aquos series. This year it's even better.

So Sharp presented this gorgeus phone with no bezels plus a curved display. This is by far the most beautiful phone I've seen. They made the chin even smaller than before and made it dark so it fits perfectly.

 

This phone is only a proof of concept and it's availability is not known, but hey, in a year or two, this might be a reality.

Most likely because they don't have room. If they made their phones a bit thicker, they could probably do it. Or seeing as it's Apple, they may not do it yet because it's very hard to get thin bezels all round without the chin bar.

It's behind the screen and it's amped so the whole screen actually vibrates.

I do. Needs less space. 

Also I've found on screen buttons have bugs sometimes.

Capacitive keys are VERY VERY MUCH wanted on a phone

 

On screen keys suck for me :

 

-Less screen space when browsing

-Buggy (I turn on Mortal Kombat X, click the lock button and open the app again and it just shows a gray bar when in reality there are no keys there to touch and its annoying)

-When you crack your screen your good as gone

So how will you hear conversation? I also saw concepts by adding it on screen as a hole but that's silly -.-

The screen vibrates, so when you put your ear to it, you can hear it. Pretty sure its called bone conduction.

They are, or are rumored to on the next iPhone. They patented the home button finger scanner to work under the screen and various other things pointed to much larger screen. Maybe not edge to edge but much smaller or one black bar. Also OLED

Sharp was really the shit in LCD technology back in the late 90's and early 00's. I doubt they will make it back to that status, but it's nice to see them attempting to push display technology forward again.

Sharp should seriously consider bringing their phones out to international markets, instead of making Japan exclusives. The IGZO on this paired with the SD801 made it a battery monster.

 

I also hope that the phone in the OP is a sign to come for what's in the future...their phone lineup for this season has been pretty weak design-wise, tbh.
