My gaming rig crashes under load during game play!

Hey there this is my first computer build. Because of this, these issues are new to me. The issue I am having is during gameplay mostly steam downloaded games aka(Amar 3,2 ect.,Battlefield) I have been encountering a problem were during the start up of a game I am running at Ultra settings at 1080p res. I am running at 60fps. My computer runs good for about 5mins. in then suddenly the frame rate will drop off to around 15fps and then blue screen about 10-20min. later. My computer tells me its a hardware/driver issue I just don't know where this could be because I bought fairly top quality components. If anyone has any ideas that would be great!

PC Specs:

a) Asus Maximus 6 Gene Motherboard

b Intel Core i7 4770k 3.5ghz.

c) Dual EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2gb. of GDDR. 5 memory FTW running in SLI

d) Corsair Vengeance 16gb Gddr 3 memory 1866mghz.  2x8gb.

e) Corsair GTX Neutron Series 240gb. SSD (Games and operating system stored here)

f)  WD Black 1tb. HDD 7200rpm.

g) H100i CPU Cooler

h) Asus 12x Bluray Reader/DVD Burner

i) Corsair AX860i Power Supply

What temperatures are you getting, when idling and at load ?

You may not have installed the H100i if the temps are too high

TheSLSAMG I have tried re installing the drivers but the problem still persists.

TheRoss0411 I am running at 45 degrees Celsius at idle and 69 degrees Celsius under load.

Joe3417 I will try that and see what the results are.

FatalWaffles I have made sure that I am running the latest drivers.

I am not sure, but i think that is quite a high idle temp, easpecially when there is a H100i and no overclock

Download OpenHardwareMonitor and see the temps, then open a game and keep monitoring them (put game in windowed if necessary, so you can see temps) and if you see any weird high numbers you'll know whats wrong, otherwise reinstall gpu drivers.

TheRoss0411 Fair enough I will check that when I am in there removing one 670.

The Great Sayain Man I am only about 20 degrees Celsius ambient temperatures.

If that doesn't work then it will likely be faulty hardware, i would guess

Hmmm, are you overclocking everything? You MIGHT need a bigger PSU/

This really sounds like temp or OC issue. 45C is high for 4770K stock nothing changed in BIOS. I mean I got 35C with air cooler. Reapply thermal paste on cpu and try again.

Check your temps on your CPU and GPU with HW Monitor. If they look high reinstall thermal past and try again. (and is your CPU or GPU over clocked at all)

I had a similar problem while playing video games with my computer, except my computer didn't blue screen it just shut off and restarted.  Turns out the power supply couldn't supply enough power to the GPU underload and would crash the computer.  I was able to verify this by using a different power supply.  Good luck!

Not a computer genius here ( i don't even have one ) but, you could try runnig tests for every single component, chek the GPU fans, and also, i know installing a corsair cooler might be a little bit tricky, chek out the radiator fans and the corsair link thing, testing each component separately must show which one is failing.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.
